Yes, Kon, I agree that local news in the USA (at least in the 48 states I
have stayed in) are utterly ridiculous. I agree that the local news in
Europe was a quite a bit better than the USA local news.
On the other hand, I looked forward to the BBC world report on PBS when it
first came on. But after a week or so, I had to stop watching because it
was worse than our local news.
