The other day, I mentioned an issue with PSIP that I was experiencing at my customer's station, and that I thought it wasn't cause by my system. I don't take that attitude automatically; it was somewhat informed, and I was frustrated because my customer was having problems connecting up the proper test gear. He solved the gear issue today, and we were able to determine that the problem went completely away when he took his Terayon CherryPicker CP-7000 out of the transmission path. I should also mention that I hope to begin a 30 day "qualification test period" within days. If the system runs for 30 days without any issues - my customer will monitor with TS_Reader (www.coolstf.com <http://www.coolstf.com/> ) - I will then be able to say EtherGuide Emissary is reliable. I have an email list where - as many OpenDTV members know - I talk about the state of my systems in what others tell me is rather frank terms, and which I believe is unique in the broadcast equipment/systems field. Those interested in subscribing need only click here <http://lists.topica.com/lists/EtherguideCallSign/subscribe/?location=listin fo> , or send an email to: EtherguideCallSign-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxx The list is unmoderated; anybody is free to reply, and members (including me) cannot post their own press releases.
