Uhh, no. At least, not always. The emissions and crash
standards around the world became very, very different
back in the 1970s, to the point that many smaller
manufacturers had to pull out of the US market. But that
didn't stop the larger manufactuers from building US-spec
cars. And in time, the rest of the world adopted similar
emission standards to ours.=20

Auto lighting standards have been different for eons, and
that never stopped any of the manufacturers from building
cars designed for each specific market.

John, I have mentioned many times that it's only with
video that those writing standards become complete
imbecilles. We have had essentially global standards for
audio, both radio and recorded audio, forever. Somehow,
that works. When it comes to TV, forget it. It's been that
way all along, and yet CE manufacturers have never had a
problem making products to different standards.

So for you and Bob to continue to pretend that somewhow
this strange state of affairs has to end, just for DTT,
just sounds like you are hiding your heads in the sand.
Honeslty, I think you're both being obstinate.

Bert
