8VSB appears totally unshakable at the moment. Whether its days are number will probably only be known after the ultimate test of whether it works when anybody actually has to use it. After NTSC turn-off it should become very obvious whether it can stand up and compete with other technologies. Who know? Maybe it really can. But that is one reason I would really like to see the transition complete, even if unsuccessfully. Then we would (if needed) have to actually do something about it. Or just let everyone switch to mobile broadband.
