Oh and just to add, the STB platform we built at logic used JS almost
exclusively for the entire UI - remote control hooks, EPG display, VOD
menus, video chapter points, video display banners and trackbar, and
even parsing and display of all the video metadata. We would have
never had the system out to market without it (I cringe at all the
poor people writing embedded apps in C for these interfaces) and this
is the way this industry is headed, because STB builders can no longer
rest on the 3 simple laurels of main menu, epg menu, and video
display.
