[opendtv] what is in the network feed during local ad avails?

Here is a silly question.

When the local broadcaster gets a network feed for a prime time show, what
is in the feed during the time the commercials will be inserted?  Dead air?
Some network ID?

This came up in conversation and the only side I knwo is the MSO side.
