OCMR MEMBERS:
Great advice below from Carl.
Don't plan on a huge layout,
many clubs will want in this show.
For trains:
1. test the engines
2. clean the wheels
3. roll the cars and check couplers
For modules:
1. clean all tracks BEFORE the show if possible
2. plug the busses end-to-end, that will find shorts,
and run a short engine on ALL tracks
3. dust or vacuum your scenery (and fix/beautify stuff)
See ya in Pomona (unless the illegal imigrants
trespass against us, -yesterday they began shacking at the Fairgrounds).

One of our members Bill Meyer did a limited Op's session last weekend. But for
the week before he cleaned track and locomotives and then he started up the
layout only to have a short. After a long time checking the track he started
taking locomotive off the track and one had a short. And it is a short I would
have never found, one set of wheels was shorted the split axel had pushed
together. I suspect we will find lots of gremlins once we set up our layout.
So if you are planning to have anything in the August GTS start cleaning and
testing you modules and trains now, they have been dormant for over a year.
