Second notice for March train show in Bakersfield.
OCMR has been invited to attend the GEHAMS train show in Bakersfield next
March 6th and 7th with set up on Friday March 5th. We are looking for nice
finished modules for this layout and it will be a three day commitment if you
plan to attend. You must transport, set up, and take down your own modules.
Parking passes and show passes will be available for members who help set up,
run the layout and help take down the layout. If you are just coming for one
day you are on your own and will need to pay parking and entry fee. If we
want to be considered for this show I need to get out layout size submitted
by December 6th and we need to include a layout plan so I need your
commitment by December first so we can finalize a plan and get the
application submitted in time.
We have also ask them to provide some information on hotels/motels in the
area. This show normally has a lot of good vendors and layouts.
Of course this show is still not 100% confirmed due to the virus. But they
are moving forward with the planning in the hope the show will take place.
Another thing the PCR is having their regional convention next April in
Fresno and they have some great prototype tours planed. However at this
point they have low registration numbers and my have to cancel due to lack of
attendance. Check out the website and if you think you may want to attend
sign up now, if they have to cancel the registration is refundable.
Remember if you plan to attend the GEHANS show I need your information by
December first.
