OCMR MEMBERS:
Three weeks ago, three hours apart,
I learned that two dear friends
had been diagnosed with cancer.
One is a 30 year supporter of my valve company,
the other is Greg Birkmann.
Most of you are aware that Greg operates a successful landscaping business.
He is also married to Yolanda and they annually visit her country of the
Philippines.
Last time there, Greg contracted some internal virus that nearly killed him.
He recovered but then received the cancer diagnosis, a growth on one of his
kidneys.
That was removed last week along with the kidney..
Greg is home, lost 15+ pounds,
and is quite weak and on strong pain medication.
He likes to measure things from 1 to 10 and says today he is a 1.5.
Ever the optimist, his near term goal is to go to Bakersfield on the 14th.
Although Greg does not do computers well,
I'm sure Yolanda will read him any emails you may send.
