It seems the actual maps (without the white border) are supposed to be aligned, but that's not really the case since the upper map is slightly larger than the lower map. I suggest extending the upper map a bit to the right such that it aligns with the right border of the white border of the lower map and correspondingly for the lower map and the left border of the upper map.
