Greetings all

You are probably aware that recently several letters and E-mails were sent to
various artists who worked on the Magnamund Companion. Our links came from
eagle-eyed forum-goers who had spotted contact details for these artists.

I was understandably rather nervous, but I went ahead and sent the
letters/E-mails on Friday 14th January 2005.

That very same day at 6:47PM GMT Rob Adams E-mailed back saying:

 > Hi Simon, This was many years ago! I have no problem with you using them
in > the fashion stated. I have no idea where the other illustrators are.
 > good luck

The next day, Saturday 15th January 2005 at 8:04PM GMT Pete Lyon E-mailed back
saying:

 > Thanks very much for your recent communication...
 >
 > I would be happy for you to use versions of my images as part of the
 > project.
 >
 > Unfortunately I cannot help out in contacting the other artists concerned.

Then on Monday morning 17th January 2005, I received a letter from Graham
Round saying:

 > Many thanks for your letter of the 13th January '05 concerning the
 > 'Magnamund Companion'.

 > Yes, it's perfectly fine for you to use my illustrations in any way you

This is the "good news" I enigmatically mentioned of the Forum some days ago.

We are currently following a lead right now for Richard Hooks, though Ms Jane
Laycock is proving extremely difficult to find.

LWHistorian on the Forum has found these two leads, neither of which is
particularly definite.

Jon, should we try to contact either of these ladies? If yes, would anyone
*else* like to do so? :-p

There may well be other good news on the illustrator front very soon, so keep
watching the skies. Although publication of new books has slowed down, things
*are* happening.

Keep the faith
