Hi all Bryan Stone has been good enough to mail me a copy of his PDFed Flight from the Dark, which I have uploaded to the PA webserver here: http://www.projectaon.org/~simon/FFTD.pdf Any comments/criticism/queries should be directed to Bryan at: wolfpaw723@xxxxxxxxx, though CCing it to this list may also be advisable. I have to admit, I haven't had the chance to look through the file myself, yet. Jon/Jeff/Ingo: you guys might want to give a little technical advice if required, since I don't have a clue about such things. Below is the E-mail I received, which may contain some infromation the tech guys need (XML/templates etc.). -- Simon Osborne -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [projectaon] Project Aon Contact Form: PDF files From: Bryan Stone To: Simon Osborne Hi Simon, I downloaded the html versions and had Acrobat pull them into the linked PDF just like you said it does, seems to work real fine. Since you all put the effort into making the html ones (and they did turn out quite nice) the PDF is exactly the same, but a PDF, and only one file to deal with. All the internet links are also still intact (Project Aon etc). I'll give you the first book so you can play around with it (3.3 MB). I'm going to try using my old webspace, but it has been a good while since I last did. [updated] My webspace doesn't allow uploads of over 1 MB, so I'm just going to attach it. If any of you at Project Aon need good email providers, I still have all my invites at gmail. I am quite good at Visual Basic programming, and I think I could make a electronic character sheet, like the one you have, but a bit fancier... I've got some neat ideas. It would make me smile to help spread these gamebooks, they helped me get through the loneliest years of highschool. On a side note, my fiancee is in China with the military, and I have some time to kill (about three more weeks). Oh, and you had said that time is a limiting factor... If this one is good, it will only take about an hour to do the rest. Not too sure about making changes though. If you said the html was made with xml source, then you could potentially just change the templates, and though the content would be the same, you could tweak it just as needed. There is no security on these PDFs, modifications can be permitted, as can printing and pretty much whatever else you want to do to them. I need to find out how to remove the footer, no one wants to see my directory structure, heh. When you decide to post them for download, we can make sure security features are on, whichever ones are deemed necessary. Having fun already, Bryan
