I hope everyone has been having happy holidays and are due to have a great new year. I had a dream last night. I arrived late to a Lone Wolf fans' convention. Joe Dever (really a yonger, more nerdy stand-in) was finishing up speaking about something. He sat down and asked for questions from the audience. I stood up, apologized for being late, and proceeded to ask my question. No one, except for Joe, seemed to be listening instead talking to each other. As I finished my question, everyone got up and left. Joe followed them out without answering my question. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. If you ask me to interpret my own dream, I would have to say that I must be carrying around guilt about not finding enough time for Project Aon while everyone else carries on and a latent fear of being left behind. So using my new powers of insomnia, I set to work on some unfinished Project Aon business: the first issue of the Kai Grand Sentinel. http://www.projectaon.org/~jonathan/kgs/january-2005.pdf I was thinking of sending the newsletter to the announcement mailing list as a text message (with the full text of the newsletter) and linking to a PDF archive as shown in the above draft. Please comment on any aspect of the draft that you think should be changed. We need progress reports from everyone who is leading the editing for a book (i.e. Thomas and I) and any Project Aon-related project. I know this will be controversial, but I think we need to get back to giving an estimated time of arrival for our projects. These should be conservative so as to avoid disappointment, but should give everyone a general estimate of when they can expect to see final results or the next set of features. We also need some write ups for the news items that I left blank (post to the list if you want to volunteer). Are there any other noteworthy happenings that have slipped my mind? The From the Forum(s) section should contain a general overview of happenings in our forums. Thank you all for your patience. -- Jon
