We've checked around regarding the forum, and we found this thread on the
Proboards support forum:

Apparently, we had this setting enabled by default. Whoops. :-(
We've altered it now, so hopefully you should receive a confirmation E-mail
either today or tomorrow. Failing that, try again, and it hopefully should
respond to you right away.
This feature of Proboards is only about two weeks old, and we received no
notification of its integration from the Proboards staff, so all we can do is
apologise and hope that we can catch any similar such things in the future. I
wonder how many others have had problems registering for the forum in the past
fortnight. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to post this message as it
has enabled us to fix a problem we were not even aware of. We hope you enjoy the
forum (when you're finally registered for it!).
