Yeah I like it when web-servers do that.
For instance, I have my Firefox set to request Irish Gaeilge versions of pages if they're available, it's always a pleasant surprise if you get one (Google does it, for instance). Such pages usually have a menu nav-bar link to the other availabel languages anyways, if you don't like the one you get served in the first instance.

Why not use Content-Negotiation [1] to direct users that have their browser properly configured to the most suitable language (but have a generic entry point for those that don't have it)?
