Hi

As threatened, all files were uploaded last night and are now sitting on the PA server.

This new version fixes two minor errors over the one released last week: On page 6, the Solo Sheet hyperlink is now black instead of blue, and a numbered picture-view (poss 269? I've lost my notes!) has been aligned properly. The only thing missing is the updated License, though the file hasn't been officially edited yet, either.

This now contains all four FW maps, as well as the map of Thorasia from Combat Heroes 2. I've also added the map for Voyage of the Moonstone--that was darn tricky! Currently missing maps: 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 27, and any map-like b+w illustrations from books 17-28 (not that I can recall any off the top of my head).

This is a new one! I wanted to experiment with image layers, so I roughly scanned in Black Baron and edited the pictures using four templates, pasting the un-edited scanned images behind the 'cut-out' section. Once again, this is missing an updated license, and has not been officially edited.

Fred, if you're still scanning in BB and WW, I'm still interested in the files. As I said, these scans are somewhat rough, and though I touched them up to remove the worst of the problems, I think maybe better quality scans might improve the overall quality. Using a template system allows the images to be fixed much more easily and far more quickly than hand-fixing each one; the only issue is that the frames sometimes are a little too small for the image-scan, so information is lost around the edge of the frame. I don't see this as too much of a problem, though, since so few people seem to own these books. I have added a note to the title page briefly disclaiming the slightly different look to some of the artwork, but I think almost no one will notice. Now I have the system in place for dealing with editing the scans and laying them out in the source file accordingly, I think a CH book should take no longer than five days to compile once the scans are received.

And just a reminder for anyone who would potentially like to be an editor for the Combat Heroes books, Emerald Enchanter is still here:

Yay! I can rest now!
