John,

Oops! I emailed too fast. I already have an event scheduled for July 11 and 12
weekend. A campout in Idaho with another group.

Sorry,

Jim Picken

Executive decision for a July 11th Star Party at Steptoe unless anyone has
confirmed a conflicting event. Please reply with your confirmation of
conflicts. I propose to do the cookout.

The reason I like this is it is a mixer with other people and a different
venue - a little variety is a good thing to promote.

Dear Paul et al.,

Yay! The PAS was very enthusiastic about this.

I propose Saturday, July 11, up on Steptoe Butte; potluck BBQ and star
party. The moon is 3 days past 3rd quarter. Access to the Butte "park" is
posted on signs to end at dusk. I will send a letter asking permission to
attend after dusk. I have sent such letters before, with no reply. The reality
is, in any case, that there is no enforcement. People are there are all hours
all the time. We are open to ANY change in time or place, if you desire.

Cheers!

Guy & the PAS

I'm game.

And it should involve barbcued flesh of boar or cow or something. I'm
not particular--smoked salmon on bagels is perfectly acceptable.

Dear John, Paul, & Gary,

I hope you don't mind I plucked your names off the SAS web site. Gosh,
Paul, it has been a while!

Anyway, it came up at a Palouse Astro. Soc. meeting that we really ought
to
do a joint event with SAS. It could be as simple as the PAS hikes north
for
a SAS star party, or maybe we schedule a night to meet on top of Steptoe
Butte for a star party, Steptoe Butte being clearly the tallest knob
between Pullman/Moscow and Spokane/CdA.

What do you think?

Best regards,
Guy Worthey
