Tomorrow night Dr. David Syphers will address the Spokane Astronomical
Society regarding LIGO's recent announcement of the detection of gravity
waves. Some of us (Brian and I) have toured the LIGO facility on the
Hanford Nuclear Reservation, out west of Pasco.
This talk won't delve into any fundamentals of Linux operation systems, but
I know many of you have interests ranging beyond solid state electronics.
SAS meetings are free and open to the public.
Enclosed is our newsletter. I generally would not include the club's
newsletter in an announcement of this nature, but if any of you know
someone whose interests include astronomy--tomorrow's meeting will be a
good one to not miss. Feel free to forward this copy of our newsletter--it
demonstrates we have an active group engaged with the community, doing
interesting things.
The venue:
We have been meeting at the Spokane FALLS Community College (SFCC)
planetarium at 7:00 pm, first Friday of each month. This will change from
time to time on very little notice--check our web page for current meeting
times and locations. If you Google "Spokane Astronomy" our page ranks at
the top.
