Some the club funded members and fund raising and some the library funded. If
we sell our 14 inch scope we could buy a couple
to get started. some clubs started with one and the interest grew and they
received more money.
We would need a commitment from our members someone that would oversee the
maintenance of the telescopes and so on.

This is awesome...I would love to see our club involved in something similar.
$325 per scope (modifications included) adds up quickly, especially given our
current commitments. I wonder how these other clubs funded their initial scope
purchases...
