A new – unprecedented – anthology of French SF has been released
yesterday, both in French and English. And it’s free (electronic version
 only)…
It was a project of the French luxury industry that decided
to explore what the year 2074 could be, and to imagine a possible common
 utopia.
It was a marvelous project, that will be officially
presented in New-York the 10th of December (18h30) at the French
Bookstore l’Albertine, 972 Fifth Avenue (between 78th & 79th
street). See http://albertine.com.
You can download it in various
formats (ePub 2 and 3, Mobi, pdf) here :
http://www.dreaming2074.com/?_ga=1.63077871.1779208177.1415173961  or on
 Amazon, etc.

The official announcement:
This is the unparalleled
adventure proposed by the cream of French luxury and science fiction. 6
famous science fiction writers (Samantha Bailly, Jean-Claude Dunyach,
Anne Fakhouri, Xavier Mauméjean, Olivier Paquet, Joëlle Wintrebert), 1
linguist (Alain Rey) and 1 composer (Roque Rivas) have seized the
futuristic dream of luxury firms and nourished it with their
imaginations. Put on their heroes’ Nautys to journey through a world
where the celebration of the senses and the sharing of emotions will
restore your taste for things and beings. And, finally, this future may
well dream happily ever after… This work is also available in French.
7 short stories in the anthology (6 texts and a piece of music):
    -  Porphyrian Tree (Xavier Mauméjean)
    -  Amber Queen (Olivier Paquet)
    -  Facets (Samantha Bailly)
    -  Future Mirages (Roque Rivas) (Musical illustration)
    -  Diamond Anniversary (Jean-Claude Dunyach)
    -  A Corner of Her Mind (Anne Fakhouri)
    -  The Chimeras’ Gift (Joëlle Wintrebert)

This afternoon, the 4th of November, Antoine Volodine received the Medicis
Prize for Terminus Radieux. A prolific author, Volodine has written
forty books in genres as diverse as novels, YA fiction, and poetry. And
yet, he seeks to break the cliché of the omnipotent writer.

“Terminus Radieux is a dystopic novel set mainly in Siberia just after the fall
of a second Soviet Union and follows a man wandering amidst the ruins of
a thermonuclear war. Though the people he meets on his journey aren’t
dead, they don’t seem to be alive either. *Terminus Radieux *evokes a
world scented with the perfumes of Eastern culture, where borders
between life and death are blurred and where several universes coexist. "
