Något kallat The TOmorrow Project söker bidrag till en antologi: http://www.tomorrowproject.uw.edu/ "The Tomorrow Project" is an international program that explores and creates science fiction based on science fact. The project features science fiction stories, comics and short screen plays based on current research and emerging technologies and examines their affect on our future. The Tomorrow Project – Seattle will result in an anthology of science fiction based on science fact, featuring an original story from Cory Doctorow. We are looking for short fiction, comics and short screenplays based upon current scientific research and technology development. Research currently being conducted by the University of Washington and Intel in the fields of synthetic biology, computer security, robotics, DNA sequencing and bio/chemical sensing, minute architecture, ray tracing/virtual reality and computer vision will serve as the basis to inspire authors of science fiction. Highlighting the seven research topics, the Tomorrow Project Seattle asks people to think about what the future will look like when these technologies affect our everyday lives. The Tomorrow Project Seattle is hosted by the University of Washington. Although the Tomorrow Project is not a competition, submissions will be reviewed by an editorial board managed by the University of Washington including members from academia and industry. The stories accepted for publication by the editorial board will be complied into an anthology. The anthology will be published online and available as a free electronic download. A limited number of physical books will be printed for the authors (each author will receive two printed copies) and events. The Project host and sponsors will be doing some publicity and distribution of the anthology. The call for submissions is an open invitation to authors, comic artists and filmmakers. Submissions must be based on one or more of the research video topics included in The Tomorrow Project YouTube video interviews that can be found below along with prescribed submission requirements. Submit Steps: Submissions can be short fiction, comics or short screenplays based upon current scientific research and technology development. Your submission must be based on one or more of the video topics included in the YouTube video interviews on this page. Make sure to adhere to all submission requirements. Submissions are due by June 15, 2011, Midnight Pacific Standard Time. Authors whose work is accepted for publication in the anthology will be contacted during the month of August 2011." --Ahrvid Ps.
