"Ukrainian SF, fantasy, and horror is little known in the English-speaking
world, leaving not much of a shadow in publishing or on the internet, but
there is a long, solid, and growing tradition in what is usually called
Fantastyka...There has long been an active Ukrainian SF/F community of writers,
translators, academics, artists, and fans. The Zoryanyy shlyakh (Star Trek) SF
club (styling itself as an English-language fan club) was active for some time
and published the fanzine Chernobylization. There is another, contemporary,
“starry” club, Zoryana fortetsya (Star Fortress), which has a website and
Facebook group and whose aim is to promote Ukrainian SF/F literature."

svårt att ge nedladningslänk då google ger direktlänk till filen, och inte länk
till nedladdningssida. Men det bör funka, förhoppningsvis. Alternativ länk kan

"Ukrainian Science Fiction Writers Predicted the Russian Invasion. Fedor
Berezin is a former Soviet military officer and science fiction writer in
Ukraine. Now, two of his novels - War 2010: The Ukrainian Front and War 2011:
Against NATO - have become reality. And he's not the only Ukrainian SF author
who imagined the Russian invasion before it happened.
In a fascinating story by Cathy Young in Slate, we learn that Berezin is just
one of many local authors who imagined a near-future dystopia where Russian
troops and NATO forces threaten the Central European state's sovereignt y."

En bok: Ukrainian Science Fiction: Historical and Thematic Perspectives, av
Walter Smyrniw
"As the first of its kind, the present study of Ukrainian science fiction
encompasses both the historical and thematic features of this genre. It
contains a discussion of the representative and the most imaginative Ukrainian
science fiction works published by writers residing in Ukraine and abroad. The
initial part of the study focuses on the historical legacy of Ukrainian science
fiction, with a special emphasis on the authors of the formative period and the
émigré authors who wrote after the Second World War, but were totally ignored
during the Soviet political hegemony. It is followed by an analysis of the
impact of Soviet ideology on the science fiction that prevailed in Ukraine from
the 1920s to the late 1950s."

* Detta var vad jag skrev: "/From/ Nov 22 1962 in Norrskensflamman (actually a
communist newspaper!), "Club for Adventure Lust!": A Club for those lusting
for adventure has started in Kiev. The purpose is that participants on the
meetings shall discuss science fiction and bold hypotheses of all kinds.E g
what space travellers may expect on distant planets or if it's possible to
create artificial life. In the board of The Science Fiction Club, as the
official
name is, there are several known authors and scientists, among them Astronomy
professor Sergey Vsekhsvyatsky and biology professor Michail Klokov.
...You can follow Vsekhsvyatsky's long career (he studied comets, the sun,
Jupiter, etc) here http://skv.univ.kiev.ua/biogra.html but "The SF Club" isn't
mentioned. And Wiki has only this on Klokov
