Agreed, it looked to me like Ben was going for it until he realized that
James was there, and then James made an ill-timed dive and missed the ball
completely, then the Browns knocked it into the EZ and recovered for the
TD. I knew right then that they weren't ready to play.

the appropriate action to get the ball. They both were clearly stunned, but
neither just dove for the ball. I know in the heat of the moment you are
trying to keep the ball alive and/or out of the endzone but just fall on
the ball or at least make sure you boot the ball out of the endzone. I'd
rather give them the safety and re-group.
Not a good sign when I can't get past the first mistake of a mistake
filled game.
