I guess I'm going to be the Mitch defender on the list. :)
1) He wasn't good early.
2) If his first read wasn't there, he kept falling backwards until throwing
off his back foot.
3) Those first 3 and half quarters weren't good enough.
Buuuuuuuuuuuut...
1) On the last drive, he hits DJ twice, Muth twice (one throwing across his
body while scrambling), and did it all with like a minute on the clock.
They had no business getting as close as they got Boz.
2) Showed great mobility.
3) No stupid turnovers (looking at you, Mason).
4) Good decision making. With that defense, 6 yards on a 3rd and 18 is not
a stupid play. Also, there were at least 3 broken plays where he made
something out of nothing. Late in the game, there was a play where they
were clearly trying to run a screen to the right. It was completely blown
up. Mitch held the ball, saw Chase on the left and hit him for like 4
yards.
5) Played behind big boulders that were supposed to be an offensive line
and didn't turn it over.
As long as that oline looks like it's trying to get the QB/RB killed, I
don't want Pickett in there. Mitch is ok, doesn't do stupid sh*t, and he
was like a foot off on some deep balls that if they were caught would have
changed the game (like Boykin down the left side in the 1st quarter). To
Tomlin this, in my mind he didn't blink and his play was above the line.

I think Trubisky fell FAR short of the mark. I'm watching the condensed
replay again and it's the critical down stuff that gets me, he almost just
closes his eyes and chucks it. I do think the leadership is decent, but he
looked like a deer in headlights at times today and even in his presser
afterwards. The confidence he showed talking to the press in camp and
preseason wasn't there, IMO. We'll see, I'm sure Bellicheat will have
something for him next week.

much more of 88 across the middle earlier in the game. Warren made a few
nice blocks at key times. Nice work for a kid who would have been ecstatic
