Hi Suzanne, again like Joan Ann says you might need to update the sim
but I also know that you can change your ID name on your phone. Say for
example instead of giving your name for a text or number you can give an
alternative like flower or something. This would show up to all people
either receiving texts or calls from you. You can't keep texts totally
private though. When you ring someone your number can be withheld but
as far as I know with texts something has to appear.

Cheers, Nicky.

Hi again Suzanne
I don't know if the problem is with your phone or SIMM card but, if the
SIMM card is more than 2 years old, it might be worth your while to
update it. Vodafone do this for free.

Hi Joan ann

Thanks for that - I did have a look at my mobile this am & on it I go to
Settings - Call settings & send my caller id. & I have 3 options, Set by
network, Yes & No.

My mobile's a Nokia 3120.

Also, another quick question - I have noticed lately that when deleting
text messages my phone freezes up sometimes - is that to do with the
handset or SIM card??

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne
As far as I know, it is not positive to withhold your number when
sending a text message. You can withhold your number when making a call.
Each phone has different menus but, on my phone, you go to tools,
settings, network and set my caller Id.

Joan Ann.
