The first Cork Computer Exchange Club will take place between 11:30 a.m.
and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday 28th May.
I will notify you of the venue shortly once final numbers are confirmed.
I have expressions of interest from nine people for this pilot project.
Should anyone else be interested please get in touch as soon as possible.

Subject: Computer Exchange Club
VICS in conjunction with Fighting Blindness propose to hold a series of four
workshops in a central accessible location in Cork city in the next month or
so assuming there is sufficient interest.
These workshops will be similar to the computer Exchange Club currently
being run by Fighting Blindness each Monday in their premises in Ely Place.
As the term implies, the computer Exchange Club comprises competent users of
technology and those less competent who have an opportunity to ask questions
and find solutions.
Each meeting lasts about two hours and is run in a friendly and informal
environment.
An agreed Chairman of the group asks each participant in turn to highlight
any technological issue they may have and the group in general aim to help
with a solution.
An opportunity for one-to-one peer support is also provided.
A number of VICS members and participants in the Fighting Blindness computer
Exchange Club have undertaken to attend these four sessions in Cork
We wish to seek expressions of interest from members of this list in the
Cork area who would commit to attend these four sessions.
We don't have a location in mind at the moment but we are making enquiries
for something suitable in the city centre close to bus and train terminus.
If the pilot project was successful it would be hoped that those in the Cork
area would continue to run the Exchange Club similar to the one in Ely
Place.
