One-Stop Shopping for Assistive Technology Products Now Available Through
MSN Shopping and Windows Live Shopping

SARASOTA, Fla., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Empower Technologies today
announced the launch of a new Assistive Technologies (AT) comparison
shopping experience via a number of Microsoft Web sites, including MSN
Shopping and Windows Live Shopping.

The availability of this service addresses the long-standing absence of a
single, comprehensive resource where shoppers can comparison shop for and
purchase AT products, which benefit not only people with disabilities, but
also the growing aging population.

"Over the past decade we have seen marvelous new advancements in technology
to help people with disabilities and individuals who face functional
limitations due to aging live more independently," said James E. Williams,
Jr., president and chief executive officer, Easter Seals. "Empower and
Microsoft have developed an effective solution to help make Assistive
Technology products easily available to those who really need them. We are
very pleased to see these types of Internet based initiatives and hope to
see more like them in the future."

The arrival of this new shopping service coincides with a growing audience
for Assistive Technology products, such as those who have physical or
cognitive difficulties, disabilities, and the rapidly growing baby-boomer
population who may need AT products as they grow older and live longer.

"As the baby boomer generation ages, we are seeing an even more critical
need for Assistive Technology products since they help not only people with
disabilities, but also anyone who is starting to experience changes in their
vision, hearing and dexterity," said Bonnie Kearney, director of Marketing
for the Accessible Technology Group at Microsoft Corp. "By making AT
products more readily available on MSN Shopping and Windows Live Shopping,
Empower and Microsoft have raised their visibility and made it more likely
that people will discover the benefits of AT."

"We are proud and honored to be a part of this important project with
Microsoft," said Michael Dorety, CEO of Empower Technologies. "Empower's
comparison shopping solution enables AT companies to effectively address
this market while providing consumers with the ability to select products
using side-by-side comparison shopping across multiple vendors." We are
confident this program will greatly benefit consumers and the AT
manufacturers, distributors and resellers.
