Dear Noreen
There is no proposal to end the current scheme of free directory enquiry
services for people who cannot use printed directories. The proposed
direction states that "for users unable to use the phone book because of a
disability, eircom are to provide special directory enquiry arrangements to
allow directory enquiry services free of charge".

To whom it concerns,
As a blind Eircom customer I would be very concerned if the provision of
directory enquiry services for people with disabilities were to be suspended.
This is a most useful service, particularly for those of us who are blind or
visually impaired telephone users.
