I R T I NewsClips - The Newsletter of Innovative Rehabilitation Technology Inc.

July 2006, Volume 6, Number 2

Greetings I R T I friends,

We wish to send you a quick update on the beginnings of a new line of
software utilities available from IRTI. As a computer system integrator we
understand the difficulties new computer users and even power users can have
learning to use the wide range of consumer software tools and utilities
available with todays computers. Many times all we want to do is accomplish
a fairly simple task such as back up a few documents to CD, but are faced
with having to learn complicated programs that go far beyond our functional
requirements. This can also be a problem for screen reader developers and
computer system integrators wanting to provide tools that are compatible to
your needs as we attempt to keep pace with rapidly changing and competitive
consumer technology. To help address this problem IRTI is developing a line
of low cost simple to use software tools targeted at a variety of important
daily tasks.

Talking Utility CD Burner is the first member in a series of helpful yet
simple utility programs in development at IRTI. Additional utility programs
are on the way that will help you efficiently accomplish a single important
task on your Windows based computer. The job gets done with a simple
interface and a short, gentle learning curve. And, is fully accessible
through its built-in screen reader and adjustable visual settings.

IRTI's Talking Utility software family is specifically designed for
less-experienced computer users, supporting the blind, low vision, and
individuals with learning disabilities, however, recognizing that most of us
are more interested in completing computer related tasks with a minimal
amount of effort, you power users will find it refreshingly elegant while
speeding up the completion of daily tasks.

The Talking Utility CD Burner is the perfect tool for making backup or
archive copies of files on your hard drive or to burn audio files for
playing on compatible CD players. The CD Burner will burn most types of
files to a record able or rewritable CD. These files may include word
processing document, spreadsheet, Power Point presentation, data files, many
formats of audio files, and more. If you can find the file on your computer
then it can be burned to a CD.

The Talking Utility CD Burner includes the following features:

1. A completely self voicing interface using SAPI 5 synthetic speech.

2. Tailor screen font type, size, background and foreground colors to
improve readability for those with low vision or learning disabilities.

3. A simple user interface to explore your computers storage devices and
prepare your file or folder selection ready to burn to CD.

4. One-button CD burning and finalization process.

5. One-button CDRW quick and full erase feature.

IRTI will be attending the ACB convention in Florida next week demonstrating
our Talking Utility CD Burner along with our full line of DAISY tools and of
course all the talking gizmos we can get to the show. If you are attending
please stop by.

If you are unable to attend the event this year you may download a demo from
