Eamon, The "small print" at the bottom of the form states: 11. Claims for repayment must be made within 4 years from the end of the taxable period to which the claim relates. The taxable periods are January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, November/December each year. As an example, the claim for a refund of VAT in respect of an invoice issued in January 2007 must be made not later than February 2011. It does seem that receipts/invoices need to be sent separately, either in electronic form or in hard copy via post. Also, as far as I can see, this website is not secure. Therefore, personal data such as pps numbers, names addresses etc will not be encrypted and could be intercepted. Pat, Can you query why the revenue are collecting personal data like this in a non-secure manner? Given you'd have to post them, where's the point in submitting the VAT form electronically? I suppose you could always complete it online, then print and post to Monaghan enclosing the receipts. Is there still a 4 year timeframe for submitting receipts? I’m afraid I’m very lazy when it comes to this kind of thing! If I don’t do so straight away, I forget about it!
