[vicsireland] Is there an accessible way to export a Google docs document or spreadsheet to MS Word format?

Hi all,
I have Googled this query and have found a number of answers but I am
having difficulty in getting them to work.
On occasions, I need to get access to a document or spreadsheet
created in Google docs.
I would like to convert the Google Doc or sheet into MS Office or Open
Office format so that I can read it and understand formating such as
tables etc.
Has anyone on the list had any success with this?
