Hi Paul,
There’s a program on the K1000 CD (or DVD) called KESIPrntInstall.
I’m providing Stephen Baum’s answer to a similar question, about one user’s
KESI Virtual Printer not having been installed when the user rinstalled
Kurzweil 1000 on Windows 10. Whatever the operating system you have, it might
work (if you can tease it out for your circumstances). It isn’t the clearest
explanation, but you can make notes or surmises from it.
Begin Quote: I forwarded your note to QA. What I can say is that the virtual
printer has just worked, and been there, when people have installed Kurzweil
1000 under Windows 10, regardless of whether it is a 32 bit or 64 bit machine.
I have to admit to having only a vague memory about alternative ways to install
KESI Virtual Printer, so I looked in the documentation, written many years ago.
It is possible it will be useful, but I'm not sure - here goes:
There's a program called KESIPrntInstall, which installs and uninstalls the
KESI Virtual Printer and the Router. All the files for the printer driver, for
all the operating systems, should be placed in a directory, uncompressed, on
the CD. Router.exe should also go in that directory. KESIPrntInstall should be
run, passing it the directory on the CD where all the files are, and the
directory where the KESI common files go (i.e. \Program Files\Kurzweil
Educational Systems\Common Files). KESIPrntInstall will detect the operating
system and install the appropriate driver files. It will also install
Router.exe in the KESI common files directory.
To see the details of KESIPrntInstall's command line, run the program with no
command line options. A help dialog will appear.
Technical Support might also be helpful.
Stephen. (quote ends)
Now, from previous experience, I sometimes got best results from printing the
jpg on poaper and then scanning/recognizing it. But this may in part depend on
the quality of the jpg image captured.

Hi Paul,
Don't knowanything about jpeg files or Kesi Virtual Printer, the easiest
alternative I think would be to print it off and then read it via your scanner
and Kertsweiler - I love making work for people!!

Hi all.
Im attempting to read a JPEG file Ive received and when I atempt to open
it, it tells me that Kesi Virtual Printer has not been installed. Im guessing
that I can download it through my Kurzweil program. Anyone know if this is
correct and, if so, how do I do it? I realise that I may still not be able to
read this particular file b8ut I reckon it is worth trying.
Paul
