Hi Roslyn
If you press the insert N to get into the NVDA window.
Then press the down arrow until you come to Preferences. Enter on this.
Then Press down arrow again until you come to Voice settings.
Enter here and when you press the tab key once, you get to the speech
rate, and you can adjust it with the up and down arrows.
