hello Robbie,
to save your home page in the Safari screen, the utilities button has been replaced by the share button at the bottom of the screen when you tap this share button icon you are given a couple of options such as copy to the home screen.

Hi Ronan,

I'm using an iPhone 5 with IOS 7.1.

I'm like a lemming when it comes to updates, but in my experience, IOS
7 (including 7.1) was a big step backward, especially where voiceover
is concerned.

I won't remember even half the bugs here, but here are a few, I've
noticed, that still have not gone away.

1. with IOS 7, you won't necessarilly get told the time, just because
you press the button at the top of the phone. in particular, if you
have iTunes running in the background, even if the programme is long
over, etc. You have to unlock the phone, and even then, the time
space at the top might be blank, as far as Voiceover is concerned.

2. Unlocking the hpone used to be so simple in IOS6. The first thing
I noticed with IOS7 was that the unlock button on the screen was not
as handy to find. Now, you either have to put your finger exactly
where it is, or else you flick. Before, you could put your finger
just about anywhere, and double-tap.

3. I use the American voice, and it sounds much more synthetic in
IOS7. Also, it pronounces things differently, so for instance, Aston
Villa is read as if the second word is Spanish (i.e., viya).

4. I can no longer find the 'utilities' button at the bottom of the
Safari screen. The worst effect of this, for me, is that I can't save
favourite web-pages to the home-screen.

5. If you're listening to iTunes, TuneIn Radio, etc. with screen
locked, and you use the volume, Voiceover speaks loudly over whatever
you're listening to, to tell you ''high volume', etc.

6. Focus problems on certain web-pages (e.g., Irish Times) are also in IOS7.

7. In a phone-call, the phone may go into screen-locked mode, meaning
that ending the call can be tricky. Even in normal screen mode,
ending a call can be tricky.

8. IOS 7 is attrocious for partially sighted users.

I can't wait for IOS 8, I hope...

Robbie
