They're commonly used as memory expansion devices on laptops, and are
nowadays also called PC cards. (They can also be used in network
configurations.) For more information and/or elucidation, visit

Subject: [vicsireland] PCMCIA cards

Hi All,

There has been a lot of discussion re PCMCIA cards on another list lately.

I am not sure that I know much about them.

What are they and what do they do?

I think that it is something to do with networking?

Any response would be gratefully appreciated.

I am proposing updating my computer hardware & softeware soon.

All the best,

Tony Sweeney.
