I love the Sound blaster XFI platinum. It has large stereo and cannon connections at the front as well as optical in and out. The PCI card has the usual 7.1 surround sound connections. I've found the software that comes with it reasonably accessible compared to the usual SB stuff. All that said, I always put jaws through a standard SB live sound card as I prefer using a different headset for it. -----Original Message----- From: vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Brian Dalton Sent: 21 April 2009 15:16 To: vics list Subject: [vicsireland] Sound Card Hi all, My poor little Dell machine is coming to the end of its life, and my god, have I put it through its paces. Well, its time to shell out some hard earned cash and invest in a new machine. I'm looking to put in a really decent sound card, that will stand up to a bit of audio production, listening to lots of music, and something that has real quality. I used to use a Sound Blaster live 5.1, but that was five years ago. Anyone able to recommend something similar or better? Cheers, Brian. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Find the home of your dreams with eircom net property Sign up for email alerts now http://www.eircom.net/propertyalerts =========================================================== The vicsireland mailing list To unsubscribe at any time send a mail to: vicsireland-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe", without the quotes in the subject of the message.
