Eloquence is the default voice...synthesiser, whatever you want to call it,
that is used with jaws. If you've not installed any additional voices on your
PC separately then it's likely you are using eloquence.

I'm assuming you are using eloquence as your synthesiser?
in which case you need to increase the volume of sound on the computer
ingeneral by going to start menu, then to accessories, then to
entertainment and hitting enter on volume control.
There you can set the balance and volume for various outputs and inputs.
