Hi Flor and tony,

I've been using XP home for about a year and a half now and generally,
have had no problem.

Occasionally, Windows doesn't shut down, and a re-start is required.

The Windows find feature (Windows key F,) seems more complicated than I
remember the same feature in Win98; but it's probabally my lack of
familiarity.

Incidentally, you'll find an 8 part series on Windows XP with jaws, on
the Access Technology Institute homepage. I think the classes use jaws
7.0.

The classes are free to download, and each one lasts perhaps a little
under an hour. check out:

Then go to the "free Windows Training" link.

Regards,

Eamonn

Hi Tony,

XP Home is more stable than any previous 9X OS, and has been around for
several years now so the bugs have been worked out. XP Pro is realy just
for business or serious security reasons. Also, you need to have the more
expensive - by $300 and more - Pro version of JAWS to operate on XP Pro.

Hi All,

I am proposing a Windows upgrade and would like to know how stable is XP
Home and XP professional, and how are they with Jaws 8?

A work colleague in .I.T at work told me that XP Home is not always
stable!
How do other users of the product feel about the matter?

All the best,

Tony Sweeney.
