Hi Eamonn,

Windows will check for updates when you go on to the Internet, I think. More
often than not, it just checks to see if there are updates it thinks you need
without taking any further action. The Antivirus program will also check when
next it sees you are on-line. the timing of that depends on your antivirus
program and how it is set to do things.

Regarding IE7: Since you already have IE6, what you'd get in IE7 is
supplemental to IE6; so it is installed 'on top of' IE6. If you don't want
IE7, you go to add/remove programs in Control panel and down the list to
Windows Internet Explorer 7. that removed, your IE6 is restored.

  Subject: [vicsireland] automatic updates question

  Hi folks,

If you have Windows updates and your anti-virus program scheduled to update
themselves, on a particular day and at a specific time, what happens if your pc
is not online at the time in question?

Are downloads automatically received the next time you're online?

Also, Is it possible to download I.E.7, while I.E6 is still your default
browser?

  As ever, regards with thanks,

  Eamonn
