You're all right so! Back in 2004, when I was going broadband, I thought I was
the only computer user not to have a NIC, or at least the right NIC. With
that, and using Windows XP, getting connected to broadband is easy (enough!)

  Hi Flor,
Yes, I mean and Internet Interface card but I was really warning about price
difference and if Eircom is charging 50€ I would hate to think what the local
dealer would be charging going on past experience!! My son will do the needful
for me as soon as his social life allows him the time (grin). However I hope
to be up and running tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

    Hi Noreen,

I think you mean a Network Interface Card (NIC). If so, your local
computer dealer should also have them. (They can put one into your computer
for you.)

      Hi Ronan & Kathleen,
Tried to connect to broadband on Friday to discover I need an internet
card
before I can connect on my desktop, and on enquiry this will cost 50€
from
Eircom and PC World have them for 20€, so this information might be
useful.
