Hi Tony,

Your friend and mine, Homer Simpson, couldn't have put it as well.

He would have summed the legal disclaimer up in two words:

chocolate donuts!

Well done to yourself and the committee for continuing great work, and
regular informative updates.

Eamonn

Hi,

Robbie's right.

You won't get the functionality of DAISY, but you will be able to listen
to
the MP3 files which are part of the building blocks for a DAISY book.

From what I've seen, the MP3 files are usually named in a logical enough
way, but this may vary... as you can imagine. Usually it's 01.MP3 for
chapter one, and Blurb.MP3 for the book jacket etc. Navigation may be a
little more primitive than with DAISY, but certainly very manageable.

Would be worth a try putting one on the IAudio I reckon.

And now for the disclaimer!

In no way, do I Tonius Murrius of the ancient Roman Murrius tribe, in my
capacity as Chairperson of this fair society, condone the tinkering with
or
dragging and dropping of, files which are contained in an undoubtedly
copyrighted DAISY book, which may be considered a single entity and not a
mish-mash (is that legal terminology?) of files, bits and bytes contained
on
an undoubtedly accessible format, which could be, but should not be,
broken
down in to MP3 files, hence reducing one of the world's most precious
objects, i.e. the book, in to mere MP3 files, which do not nearly command
the respect of the previously mentioned literary institute we are all so
familiar with and glad to have access to.

Good luck,

Tony.

Hi Brian!
I think it should be possible to copy a DAISY book to the I Audio and
play the mp3 files in it. Since the smil files are not supported by the
player, it should just ignore them and play the mp3 files in the correct
order. Of course it doesn't have the features and functions of a DAISY
book reader, but then again you can set book marks with the I Audio.
All that of course only if copying the DAISY book is permitted in the
first place.
Cheers,
Robbie

Hi Paula,

Unfortunately, daisy books cannot be read on the iaudio x5 player.

The best portable device for reading daisy books in my oppinion is the
bookcourier.

www.bookcourier.com

Audio books in mp3 format can be read on the iaudio though.

Brian.

Hi all

I got a Iaudio x5 MP3 player for Christmas, and was wondering if there
is a Daisy reader program that I can get to use on my Iaudio so I can
read daisy material.

Regards

Paula
