Hi Mike,An internet radio is a savage toy for sure. I have one myself, and like you, there is no speach on it. I need to rely on a pair of eyes to search for stations for me, and preset them in the ten presets provided.
Unfortunately, there is nothing available to make it speak.TNAUK, did develop an internet radio with speach, but it worked on a system that they would set the stations for you. There were a certain amount of stations that were pre-installed, but one did not have the freedom to choose your own stations automatically. It did not get good reviews, and frankly, sounded like a pile of the brown stuff.
If I hear of anything else in the future, I will surely let you know. I would love a speaking internet radio. Cheers, Brian.----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Meaney" <mikemean@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hello Vickers,I got an Internet radio for Christmas from a friend, it is a Philips streamium, unfortunately with no voice output. At the moment I might as well have a mirror for all the good it is. Is there a way to get around this, is there a piece of equipment that I can purchase. It is a fine radio with a great sound, but alas no way that I can think of getting round this problem.Hoping for good news I am going to write a note to Philips and will let ye know the result.., all the best Mike =========================================================== The vicsireland mailing list To unsubscribe at any time send a mail to: vicsireland-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxwith the word "unsubscribe", without the quotes in the subject of the message. To contact the moderator send mail to: tim.j.culhane@xxxxxxxxx For mor information on the Visually Impaired Computer Society visit: http://www.vicsireland.org
