Hi Eamon,
No you don't need a subscription to read most of the paper. I think there
are some premium stuff which you need a subscription for.
I just did a search for Miriam Lord and got over 700 results. The very
first result was for her article today. You can find it at:

I don't have one, but we do in work, so I can log in if necessary.
When I entered Mirian Lord in the edit field, I got one result dating from

Hi folks,
I came across the following list in Wikipedia, of online encyclopedias.
Posting it here in case it's of interest.

The heading list consists of various categories, and when you enter on one,
there is a 4 column list.
The colums consist of name, description, language and whether the
encyclopedia is free or has a subscription.
