Hi Flor,I did listen to the beginning of that show on A-Z and it came on for me no probs!
I don't have the RTE player! I was disappointed that the programme wasn't sectioned in links! It used to be!I didn't really want to have to trawl through the show to hear the guest I wanted to hear, unless another way.
Mark could bear that in mind and also (whilst I'm on) the volume for radio is very poor indeed!
Many thanks Tony----- Original Message ----- From: "Flor Lynch" <florlync@xxxxxx>

Hi, I see that it is now 'mandatory' to use the RTÉ 'Flash-filled' Catch-Up Player if we want to watch a previous edition of a programme like, , say, "The late late Show". Oh well. I hav had to clear my personal settings,i.e., enable Flash for the RTÉ site, , etc., in order to better access whatis going on with the player while I'm 'viewing' last night's edition. The audio/volume is better than under the former set-up, so it has that much going for it, anyway. mark, could you also please try JAWS (latest version is 10) and see how things compare with and without JAWS? And the on-screen information, the same? I wish there was a way to fast-forward and/or rewind while in theplayer, but I don't see any suitable buttons (these buttons which are givennumbers, as they appear) for this. One would have thought that, within a programme of 1 hour 50 minutes and 15 seconds duration, such navigation should be possible?[Note: I have an advantage in that, as well as speech from JAWS, I also havebraille with JAWS. that's how I got the time information. there is alsosome kind of clock or monitor button with which you can see the time elapsedas it goes second by second.]----- Original Message ----- From: "Scanlon, Tony" <tony.scanlon@xxxxxx>To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 4:00 PMSubject: [vicsireland] RE: [vicsireland] Re: [vicsireland] Re: [vicsireland]RTÉ launches catch-up TV service Hi Mark, Thanks for all the very useful info.I use Zoom Text 9.1 so no problem with text magnicaacation. the video worked ok on the adds but the programs would not open for me here, a network issueprobably. The big problem for me was the audio, ZT did not read anything on the webpage, like the player buttons or the names of the programs etc.so that was abig drawback for me. But it looks a great idea so I hope they get it sorted. Tony This e-mail and any attached files are from FAS and are confidential.
