Hi Mark,

Had a quick look and to be honest, while I'm sure its usable if you know
what you are doing, Its pretty horrible right now.

Obvious problems:

1. poorly designed flash with loads of unlabelled buttons.
2. There seems to be a sort of calendar, whereby I assume, you can
navigate to dates and times of shows, but I can't seem to figure out how
it works. Also the calendar entries are interspersed throughout the
flash content.
3. The page constantly seems to be refreshing, throwing up random shows
which you can watch.
4. I attempted to watch a programme by clicking on the button
associated with the programme name.
5. Details of when the programme was aired, the date until which it was
available, along with other details such the programme website etc were
displayed.
But I couldn't figure out how you actually got the programme itself to
start playing. Its probably done using one of those unlabelled buttons,
but I don't have the time or the interest to start systematically clicking
buttons in the hope I strike lucky and hit the 'play' button.

In short, it?s a load of rubbish.

Tim

Tony,

To use the new RTÉ player, go to http://www.rte.ie/player/.

Can I ask everyone to try it and report on it's accessibility, good
and bad. I will take this information to RTÉ and work with them on
fixing any problems.

Mark
