Patricia Oh is the coordinator of this program. I'm working with her on a
similar project(s) at my day gig. She's at build.afc@xxxxxxxxx

Hello, WSMAC,

I looked over the AARP material Ann gave me at our meeting last week.
It regards a program the AARP does called "Age-Friendly Communities". I
haven't looked into it in detail, but it appears to be a way of scoring
communities on their friendliness to older citizens, presumably including
transportation infrastructure. I emailed the Portland Bicycle/Pedestrian
group and found out that Portland is already doing a similar initiative.
I'm forwarding that contact info to this list for your general information,
and in case anyone is particularly interested in this.

Linda Weare of the Portland Public Health dept. is leading a similar
program for the City: lsw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. It is organized around the
AARP's A-FC program principles, I believe.

Thanks for sending this John. We've reached out to AARP a few times but
nothing much has come from it. I still see it as being worthwihile as would
be a valuable ally.

Hello, Portland Committee,

At our most recent Westbrook Safe Mobility & Access Committee (WSMAC)
meeting, Ann Peoples gave us a folder of information about this
"Age-Friendly
Communities" program
<https://www.aarp.org/livable-communities/network-age-friendly-communities/info-2014/an-introduction.html>
of the AARP. I figured people in this mailing list might be interested in
looking into it, if you haven't heard of it already.
