ncurses that is!
It seems we were assuming ncursesw was a substitute for ncurses. Well it's not.
It's an extension to allow the terminal to handle wide (unicode) characters.
It is quite likely that if you are *building* ncursesw it will automatically
build ncurses as well.
We have a patch in place that now correctly insists on ncurses, and a note in
the dependencies list that ncursesw is optional.
I've checked it out here on debian stretch, but would be grateful if people
could test it on other distros.
