For Yoshimi to auto-connect to an ALSA MIDI source all you need to do is in
'Settings->Alsa' check the 'Set as preferred MIDI' box, enter the ID name of
the device you want to connect to in 'Alsa MIDI Source, then save settings and
restart. If that device is available when Yoshimi starts it will connect.
The device name can be discovered with 'aconnect -l' from a terminal window or
with a program like qjackctl. This may well be different from the normal device
name. e.g. I have a 'midicontrol Pro 49' dumb keyboard. Yoshimi sees it as:
'Hua Xing'.
I also have 'Prodipe MIDI USB 4i/4o'. Yoshimi sees the first of the ports as:
'USB Midi 4i4o'.
