Just a couple of minor details I'd like to clear up.
If a part is inactive but has a MIDI connection you see a black bar
approximating the signal level if it was active. Does anyone make any use of
that? I personally find it more of a distraction.
Removing it would make a very small reduction in the DSP loading, and also the
GUI processing.
Currently the active part metering is the average sum of L & R components. The
way this underlying code has evolved means that the could be turned into
separate L&R indications relatively easily. Would people like to see that?
This would make no difference at all to the DSP loading, but a small increase
in the GUI processing. It does have benefits as well as looking nicer :p
The reading would be more accurate (currently one side could be in heavy
overload while the other is hardly moving).
You would also be able to see if there was any LR imbalance. This can be
difficult to hear with very complex sounds.
