I did some experimenting with this today, covering a range of -30dB to -80dB.
With the higher values there was an audible improvement to sounds that were
'clean', but as soon as you added things like reverb the difference was much
less noticeable.
To my surprise there was virtually no difference to Yoshi's performance over
such a wide range, so unless anyone is aware of a problem, I think we can safely
make the default -60dB. I don't think we need to make it user-settable.
As an aside, working on this means I also created a new instrument patch with a
very long tail. I call it 'Special Saw' and it will be in the 'Companion' set
next commit :)
